Do you stay with clients during medical appointments?
Yes. We provide door-through-door accompaniment and can remain with clients during medical appointments, outpatient surgery, or errands when appropriate. This is especially helpful for outpatient surgery requiring a responsible medical escort or for older adults who benefit from additional support understanding discharge instructions and advocacy.
Do you transport to Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field in Florida?
Yes. We provide transportation services and have access to base for eligible veterans and military retirees attending appointments at Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field, and related medical facilities in Okaloosa and Walton Counties in Florida.
Do you accept Medicaid or insurance?
Sunset Senior Concierge is a private-pay service and does not bill insurance or Medicaid directly. Some veterans may qualify for reimbursement through the VA Beneficiary Travel Program (←click the link for more information) depending on eligibility requirements. Tip, if using Medicaid: ask if they reimburse the driver for wait time at your appointment with you. Typically, wait time is not covered.
Do you provide transportation after sedation procedures?
Yes. We provide transportation and accompaniment for outpatient surgical procedures such as colonoscopies, endoscopies, cataract surgery, hip/knee/shoulder replacements, oral surgery, and other appointments requiring a medical escort. Advance scheduling is recommended for these appointments due to variable procedure times and availability.
Can family members schedule transportation remotely?
Yes. Many families coordinate services for aging parents from out of town or while balancing work and caregiving responsibilities. We can communicate directly with approved family members regarding scheduling, appointment coordination, and updates when authorized by the client upon completion.

We provide non-emergency medical transportation to older adults throughout Okaloosa and Walton Counties in Florida, including Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Valparaiso, Shalimar, Mary Esther, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and some surrounding communities. At this time, we do not serve Crestview, Freeport, Panama City, PCB, Defuniak, or areas north of Niceville.
